During my 33 year career as a pilot with American Airlines, I was busy building a real estate business, first in Palo Alto, and ultimately in the Carmel/Pebble Beach area. By 2005, The Mitchell Group had become the largest independently-owned real estate firm in Monterey County, with 5 offices and 150 agents. I sold it to Sotheby's International Realty in late '05. Timing....
After my "non compete" period, I built Carmel Realty Company to be the leading Luxury real estate firm here in Carmel and Pebble Beach.
I've always been an avid fly fisherman, and we get to our ranch on the San Juan River near Pagosa Springs, Colorado as often as possible. Vicki is a keen angler too, so we have a lot of fun travelling together to remote areas of the world. In 2009 we made our 14TH annual trip to Patagonia.
We have two daughters, both Stanford grads (one in SF and one in Carmel), five grandchildren and four Cavalier King Charles Spaniels (go figure).

Believe it or not, the Carmel-by-the-Sea that we all knew in the '50's really hasn't changed that much. If you have time, come and visit. Carmel is beautiful any season of the year.
